Privacy Policy

Effective October 5, 2026

TixPass Inc. (the "Company") complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws, and establishes the following policy to protect users' personal information. The Korean version prevails in case of any discrepancy.

1. Personal Information Collected and Methods

Items collected

  • Required: name, mobile phone number, email address
  • Sales or partnership enquiries: name, company or organisation, contact details (email or phone), event type and timing, enquiry content, referral source (retained for 2 years from the enquiry)
  • At payment: payment information (e.g., credit card — processed via payment gateway)
  • Automatically generated during use: access IP, device/browser information, service usage records
  • When using an event's "Nearby" feature (local-currency merchants and attractions): activity records (viewing the list or a place, getting directions, calling, opening a payment app) with the related event, place, time, and channel; in-store payment confirmation records (the place confirmed, payment method, payment amount entered by the user (optional), whether a benefit was used, confirmation time); and store-code entry attempt records (number and time of incorrect entries)
  • How "Nearby" records identify users: signed-in users by their member ID; users who are not signed in by a pseudonymous identifier (a random value) issued by the Company. Names and contact details are not recorded with them.
  • When "Nearby" sorts places by distance: device location (latitude and longitude) — used only to calculate distance and not stored.
  • When using in-app directions: the device's current location (starting latitude and longitude), the destination latitude and longitude, and the travel mode (walking, public transit, or driving) — sent through the Company's server to the TMAP directions API provider to look up a route; the Company's server does not store this location data.

Collection methods

Entered directly by users during ticket purchase/booking/pre-registration/inquiry, or generated and collected automatically during use of the Service.

2. Purpose of Processing

  • Ticket sales/booking, identity verification, payment, and settlement
  • Sending transaction-related notices (booking details, tickets, refunds) via email, alimtalk, etc.
  • Responding to customer inquiries and handling complaints
  • Service operation, improvement, and statistical analysis
  • Introducing local-currency merchants and attractions near an event, confirming in-store payments, and preventing repeated use of a benefit or misuse of store codes
  • Preparing usage statistics submitted to local governments and other bodies supporting the event
  • Looking up in-app directions (route, travel time, distance, and fare)

3. Retention and Use Period

The Company retains personal information until the purpose is achieved or the retention period expires. However, the following are retained for set periods under applicable laws.

  • Records on contracts or withdrawal of subscription: 5 years
  • Records on payment and supply of goods: 5 years
  • Records on consumer complaints or dispute handling: 3 years

Records from an event's "Nearby" feature are destroyed once the following periods have passed. They are kept until then even if the user withdraws membership.

  • Activity records and in-store payment confirmation records: 12 months after the end date of the event
  • Store-code entry attempt records: 90 days after the last attempt

4. Provision to Third Parties

The Company does not, in principle, provide users' personal information to external parties. However, the minimum information necessary for entry/booking confirmation may be provided to the relevant Organizer for event operations, or where required by law or with the user's consent.

Usage results of an event's "Nearby" feature may be submitted to local governments and other bodies supporting the event. They are provided only as statistics that cannot identify individuals, such as confirmation counts per place and per day and totals of user-entered amounts; member IDs, pseudonymous identifiers, email addresses, and other information that can identify individuals are not provided.

5. Entrustment of Processing and Overseas Transfer

The Company entrusts the processing of personal information as follows for smooth provision of the Service.

Personal information may be transferred to entrustees located overseas within the scope necessary to provide the Service. The transferred items are the same as the collected items above; the time of transfer is when the Service is used, and the method is transmission over the network.
